Biography

Dr. Bharat Vyakaranam received his Bachelor and Master degree in Electrical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India, in 2001 and 2005 respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University, OH, in 2011. Since then, he has been working in Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, as a power systems research engineer and became a senior research engineer in 2016. Serving as a key technical contributor, Dr. Vyakaranam has been supporting and managing a portfolio of research projects in the area of power system modeling, dynamic simulation analysis and control, and integration of renewable energy in power grid studies. The research funds range from $35K to $65K. He has published more than 25 peer reviewed journal and conference papers, as well as dozens of technical reports. He also serves as a reviewer of top-level journals in the area of power systems, including IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, etc. Dr. Vyakaranam is the recipient of two PNNL Outstanding Performance Awards in 2014 and 2015, "Of-the-Year" award in 2013 and prestigious "Pathway to Excellence awards" in 2016 and 2017.
